(no subject)
My van was extraordinarily minging inside (sandwich crusts thrown behind the seat, mouldy smoothies, food crushed into the carpet, faggy ashy grime on every surface...), so today it's had a full valet and now smells like a tart's handbag. I discovered on sitting in the driver's seat to hang my fuzzy dice that the seats were still wet from their shampooing. I now have citrus-scented buttocks.
I've seen a couple of films this week: Breaking and Entering and The Prestige and read a couple of books: Lemony Snicket's The End - the last in A Series of Unfortunate Events; another Garfield extravaganza; and am now reading Terry Pratchett's Thud!. The person on the desk next to me at work has started reading it too coz she left her book at home today. So as long as we don't take breaks at the same time, it'll work...
And because I've been tagged:
RULES: Each player of this game starts off with 10 weird things/habits about yourself. People who get tagged need to write a blog of their own 10 weird habits/things as well as state this rule clearly. At the end you need to choose 6 people to be tagged and list their names.
1. I subscribe to hundreds of podcasts, but never make time to listen to them. Do I unsubscribe or delete them? No, I just let them mount up and then feel vaguely disappointed that I'm missing out.
2. I wiggle my bum when I'm trying to sleep. Apparently I've done it since I was old enough to sleep on my stomach, and my Mum was highly amused when she realised I still did it :)
3. I love doing embroidery. My stepmother was determined that I needed to have a feminine hobby to balance out my penchant for Lego and Airfix planes.
4. I belong to a church, sing in the choir, am on the reading list, and get involved in anything else I can, but I don't believe in God.
5. I chew my cuffs.
6. I've moved nearly 50 times in my life (maybe more, I lost count in Cornwall). So when I bought my house I decided I'd never move. Realistically I probably will coz it's not a great area, but I'd still rather not have to.
7. I can't worm my own cats. I have to smile sweetly at qb_fox to come do it for me.
8. I am a pathological list-maker. I can't pack without a list; I can't remember what books I want without a list; I can't buy groceries without a list... but it's all in the writing: merely an organisational exercise for my thoughts, coz without writing a list I'd be lost, but once it's written, I don't look at it again.
9. I love silly socks. The more foolish, the better.
10. I really hate speaking on the phone. I would rather send 74 text messages that take ages to compose and cost me a fortune, rather than making a 2min phone call. Yet when people ring me, I keep them chatting for ages! Crazy.
