♛ CHARACTER INFORMATION
Name: Terezi Pyrope
Series: MS Paint Adventures: Homestuck
Ability: Social intution: superhumanly (though not perfectly) adept at "reading" or even just knowing the intentions and actions of others. It's rather flighty, though, as she's still figuring out how to control it. At times it even allows her to predict outcomes due to others' actions, though this aspect of her ability is less reliable. It additionally makes her rather resistant to most psychic influence. It's not impossible to get in her head, just very, very difficult.

Secondarily, an odd, preternatural form of synaesthesia that allows her to "taste" and "smell" colors in place of her absent vision.

Position: 3rd year student
Appearance: Human! She's 5'3", average-sized with balanced proportions all over (hehe Libra!!). Medium-length auburn hair and long-lashed eyes which are also completely red! No visible irises or pupils, just solid, burnt red. She wears red shades so her eyes are rarely seen, though.

History: Terezi was only a year old when her somewhat wealthy parents were tragically killed in a plane crash, leaving her in the care of their family friend, the stern Senator Lemonsnout. She inherited their secluded treehouse, somewhere deep in the forests of Mars, and an ancient petrified dragon egg a bit larger than her head. Years later, despite Lemonsnout's insistence she sell such a rare treasure, Terezi chose to keep the egg after developing a strange attachment to it. In truth, she had begun to occasionally dream of the former inhabitant of the egg speaking to her, giving her advice when she was troubled and guiding her almost as her absent parents would. Terezi wasn't sure if these were just figments of her imagination or the ghost of the female dragon that was never born, but she began to view her as a surrogate mother figure nonetheless.

The senator, despite being somewhat serious in nature, was a well-intentioned guardian. Though Terezi had mysteriously learned to speak on her own (no doubt thanks to a certain scaly apparition), he made sure she was fed, clothed, and sheltered as best he could. Of course, once she had learned to look after herself for the most part, he spent more time working and she spent more time being independent. Eventually Lemonsnout moved out of the treehouse altogether and relocated closer to his work, stopping in every now and then to check on her but otherwise leaving her to her own devices.

Terezi spent much of her time immersing herself in outdated law textbooks, MMORPGs, and LARP sessions. She made many friends participating in the latter two, one in particular who became a formidable LARP partner. They made a a fearsome pair; in addition to their rather (questionably) rough methods of punishing enemies, her partner was a psychic capable of controlling their foes' bodies, and Terezi herself could disarm and dismantle them with mere mind tricks. It wasn't long before harmless LARP turned into their own twisted version of vigilantism, and though the duo still feigned mere gaming, their actions had earned quite a bit of fright from alleged wrongdoers.

Though she did gain much entertainment from these sessions, Terezi's unease over her "sister"'s fondness for fighting rather than the bestowal of justice continued to grow. The psychic's delight in violence had never bothered her before so long as it was only towards offenders of the law. Her worries were confirmed not long after they had formed a friendly rivalry with another LARPing pair, a boy and girl who went by "Team Charge." Unfortunately, her partner in crime didn't seem to get the "friendly" memo. The psycho psychic developed an odd, hot-and-cold interest in the male Team Charge-r, often goading and provoking him with the claim she was trying to help him grow. Her little games went too far when she psychically forced him off a cliff, crippling him apparently for life. Terezi advised his incensed teammate to leave her (now ex) sister's punishment to her, but the girl, guilt-ridden for being unable to save her partner, thirsted for revenge, exacting it upon her without restraint. Unfortunately, after her retribution was granted, the enraged psychic retaliated by taking her life.

It was at this point that Terezi decided cutting ties with her former partner wasn't enough and justice had to be properly served. After orchestrating a small series of events, she indirectly managed to both mutilate her enemy's left eye and sever her arm. Of course, the latter did not take kindly to this. She once again responded viciously. At this time, Terezi's resistance to mind control was still developing. Despite this, the enraged (now one-armed and one-eyed) girl was mostly unable to control Terezi with her psychic ability. She instead managed to delve into her mind at a weaker point: while she was asleep. She somehow impersonated Terezi's dragon-guardian and spoke to her, instructing her to (sleep)walk out and stare into the east. Terezi did as she was told and awoke just as the sun began to rise. Still half within the throes of sleep and with her ex-partner still posing as her ever-trusted dragon custodian, she did as she was told, staring painfully into the sun until she was completely blind.

Lemonsnout found the best healer in Mars, eager to restore his charge's eyesight. Unfortunately, a certain meddling psychic got wind of this and took control of the healer's mind. Instead of curing Terezi, she made sure her nemesis received the incorrect medicine, which did nothing but turn her once normal, teal eyes into bright solid red.

Terezi was, naturally, dismayed by this at first. Even her dreams were dark and empty. Fortunately, her dragon friend's dream-advice could still be heard, and she learned that its ancients species would be born completely blind, experiencing the world and its colors through scent and taste. The dragon's instructions were effective, and soon Terezi learned to also "see" with her nose and her tongue. After this, she refused all offers to cure her blindness and additionally gave up her FLARP and vigilantism-related hobbies.

It wasn't long until Terezi turned eleven and a courier appeared on the doorstep of her treehouse, bearing an invitation to a delicious new adventure.

Personality: Terezi initially comes off as hyperactive and whimsical, rarely without an unsettlingly toothy grin and a gleeful cackle. She enjoys communicating with people, though her methods are often not so much communication as attempting to predict and provoke certain reactions out of them (sometimes for her own gain or mere entertainment). She can be very helpful and civil when necessary (or just when she feels like it), but in the end, she's pretty much still a troll. Personal space and comfort zones are never an issue. She is surprisingly adept at inciting a response out of her victims subjects; after all, it's difficult to ignore the blind girl teasing, sniffing, flirting with, nagging, or just weirdly prattling at you. At times, she can even seem rather malicious with her occasional blatant, savagely detailed death threats. In spite of her unpredictability, Terezi often does not bother hiding how she feels. She's sometimes loath to explain the reasons behind her aggravation, though.

Unexpectedly insightful and manipulative, she bases many of her more serious, significant actions towards others on whatever behavior she expects of them. She is a risk-taker and recognizes that she doesn't and can't know everything, though she is by no means indiscreet or reckless - when it comes to important matters, anyway. Of course, Terezi is still also carefree and fun-loving by nature. She may be praising a student on the delicious color of his sweatshirt so he'll wear it more often and piss off his girlfriend (who Terezi knows hates said color)... or she might just really like that lovely Key lime yellow. Even as a human, Terezi is a proficient troll.

Terezi is a devout fan and supposed follower of justice, aspiring to be a no-nonsense prosecuting attorney someday. Never mind that her ideas of law and justice are a bit... skewed (and it doesn't help that she has only studied an obscure and ancient branch of law). She's not mean-spirited by nature, but she is not against killing those she believes deserving of it for the greater good. Justice trumps mercy; villainous deeds deserve punishment equal to the crime. Vengeance is often portrayed as one of her strongest motivators, likely due to her penchant for equality. Even her best friends aren't exempt from her sanctions, no matter how sisterly the former bond or how many fiends scourged together in the past.

Strangely enough, despite her supposed skill in reading the intentions of others, Terezi is prone to letting personal little resentments cloud her own judgment at times. Though currently in a begrudging truce with her former-partner-now-nemesis, she is constantly suspicious of the devious psychic's schemes and objectives. She has neither forgiven nor forgotten and awaits the day when her archrival finally makes a move against her. For the time being, however, she prefers to stay out of her affairs and avoids communication as much as she can.

Ultimately, though she may do and say some surprisingly terrible things, Terezi is not too bad a person. An exceedingly strange and irritating one, perhaps, with an occasional streak of selfishness and ruthlessness, but protecting the wellbeing of her friends and allies is always one of her main concerns. She does feel guilt and sorrow when most appropriate, even making up for her errors when she can, and she does hold varying degrees of value in all her friendships, be they past or present.

Still, you cannot hope to surpass Ms. Pyrope in a lawyer-off; she is simply the best that there is. (not really)

Since her youth, Terezi has had an affinity for the majestic, extinct dragons, collecting draconian plush toys (referred to as "scalemates") in various colors that are often found strewn around her room. She even decorates her living space with rare and colorful scales from the magnificent beasts. One of her favorite pastimes is conducting mock trials with her plushes, hanging them from nooses after their dastardly deeds have been brought to light. Chalk renditions of these trials are frequently found on her walls, and they're often accompanied by other reminders of the prosecuted's demise. There's something almost disquieting about walking into a fourteen year old's dorm and finding adorable, colorful toys hanging from their necks (and yes, the inappropriate morbidity of the scene is somewhat lost on her). Additionally, Terezi occasionally engages in text-based RP as a fierce and perpetually hungry dragon.

Terezi is completely blind; she is only able to perceive her surroundings thanks to the supernatural tutelage of her reptilian guardian. Despite occasionally feigning irritation when this is remarked upon, she is not bitter at all about her sightuation (that was awful oh god kill me). In fact, she is quite pleased with her ability and finds colors to be much more satisfying when tasted rather than seen. It's only an added bonus that the person who caused her blindness is aggravated that her revenge didn't quite play out as planned. She has since chosen never to go back to the ways of the sighted.

Terezi displays other odd behaviors, such as typing and writing with numerals replacing certain letters (a quirk she picked up from her MMORPG days), using a teal font similar to her former eye color when typing (and the same color ink when writing), and carrying around a cane that she doesn't actually need. What many don't know is that said cane is also a weapon that separates into two swords if need be. Aside from her obvious fascination with the entire spectrum of color, she also exhibits a special fixation on eye color and tends to sniff at others' faces to get a whiff of their optical aromas. Also, she likens colors to food. Her favorite hue, as she has stated on many an occasion, is red, especially of the candy-apple sort.

Third Person Sample: It's way too late to be playing video games on a school night and she knows it; she can faintly smell it in the grape-jelly darkness of night, wafting warningly from her window. It's just so hard to tear herself from the game when there are so many suckers online right now, just waiting for her to pluck them from their feelings of security and drop them into all sorts of levels of uncomfortable. She cackles into her headset, receiving a small, questioning sound as a response.

"Go on," she urges innocently, grinning at the other player's uncertainty. "I'm right behind you."

Her in-game companion, a stranger and pompous, high-leveled warrior who had stolen one of her important kills a few hours before, continues to hesitate. Impatient and growing more bored by the minute, Terezi leans forward and licks her computer screen, getting a better taste of his ridiculously over-accessorized avatar. It's dressed in oily black and metallic grays, not an appetizing color scheme at all. "What the hell are you doing?" the player immediately snaps, obviously trying to put off what she instructed him to do. "It sounds gross." "Your character is gross," Terezi replies without missing a beat. She crosses her arms indignantly, though of course he can't see it. "I mean that seriously! All that grayscale monochrome shit tastes awful, would it kill you to dress a little festively?" "I thought you said you were blind? What's a blind kid doing playing MMORPGs anyway?" "Whatever. Just farm those things already, would you? And stop being such a baby about it! You might not be strong enough on your own, but I've got some decent healing spells to get you through this treacherous ordeal."

He sighs irritatedly and launches into the task, pulling rather impressive combos to whittle down the number of enemies that had gathered in their area. Terezi's character, a "lowly, helpless cleric", diligently heals his ailments and restores his HP when need be. "Not bad," he remarks as he continues to plow through the seemingly neverendless swarm of monsters. "I'd say we make a pretty good team if you weren't so weak and bossy." Terezi ignores him in favor of pressing her face to the screen, inhaling the scent of their adversaries' colorful, citrus-y fur.

It seems like an eternity when he finishes, sighing tiredly ('As if pointing, clicking, and hitting a few buttons is exhausting,' Terezi idly thinks to herself) and addressing his healer. "All right, so we split the loot sixty-forty, got it? That's fair and if you whine about it like a little girl I'll fucking report you."

"Fair?" Terezi responds amusedly, laughter shaking her body. "That's not fair at all! Remember that huge mutant scorpion you took down earlier?" Before he can ponder his past actions and their connection with their current conversation, what remains of his HP is gone, and Terezi's "innocent cleric" has an arm outstretched with a dagger at the end of it. She delights in the game's attention to detail in its graphics, giving her monitor a good lick and savoring the taste of the candy apple red blood dripping from her weapon.

Her laughter only grows louder as profanity and threats blare from her headset, before he promptly signs off in a prime example of a classic "ragequit." Terezi gathers the loot dropped by the warrior's kills, pleased with the turnout of her late-night gaming.

Smiting douchebags with the power of justice: always worth missing a night of sleep.

Hey, Estrasia! Feast your puny eyes with your inferior traditional eyesight upon this bouquet of sensory delight!!!! >:o Never in all my fourteen years of existence have I come across a more delicious display of artistic prowess. Except for that exhibited in cool ironic comics, I guess. Hehehe. >;]

Oh my god I can't even handle this. My mind is officially blown. It's so blown our weirdly huge collection of pyromaniacs are crying and peeing their fireproof pants like babies! They're that jealous of the magnitude of this explosion of color and greatness.

I decided to pay homage to this finger-licking good piece by creating some art of my own. It's of you, Estrasia! I hope you like it. <3
