This weekend I did something dreadful and dirty and I hope you’ll still like me, but...I played D&D. Yeah I designed a character and made my friend teach me how to play. He reluctantly accompanied me to Powell’s and I had to ask the salesperson for the special dice while he shamefully lingered in the corner. Then we cackled all the way home in the pouring rain while we envisioned the campaign we were about to conquer on our imagined landscapes. And you know what friends?...it was kind of fun. It’s a story telling game - using statistics! I didn’t realize that! It’s brilliant!
Don’t worry I won’t get hooked or anything. Sure that’s what they all say. But I also learned how to play chess this weekend, and I very well might be hooked on that.
