i'm sitting around waiting for tanya to finish up working so that we can go get some dinner and get on a train to moscow!
but it's taking so long...so sick of the computer....
so good news. i got my ticket home...i'm coming home in a week, july 8th.
after they booked me a ticket on the 8th a month ago, they changed their mind and told me that the flight was full. so i bitched, wrote letters to lufthansa's corporate office..but nothing. no one cared.
so then they put me on more stand-by lists...then last week a flight for the 13th opens up!
great...i was thrilled. go to the lufthansa office only to hear them say...again...that they can't change a q class ticket to a b class ticket...what the hell is the difference between q and b class tickets if they are both economy class?? i have no idea...but no 13th.
so then they put me on stand-by for the 8th once again...but first on the list. and after calling them everyday for 2 weeks...finally today they gave me a ticket.
as soon as i got my ticket though, i felt all emotional. i realized i'm gonna miss alot of stuff.
like my beautiful apartment building that was built in 1903!
the bus rides to and from work when i got a seat. the 209 marshrutka is so much better than 141 or 252.
walking around at midnight and it still being light out.
of course...people. having tea with my landlady. the friends that i have made.
maybe i should have stayed until august, but i'm already on pins and needles worrying about packing all my stuff for ny. and i'm ready to catch some of that 95 degree weather and high humidity in michigan. not to mention maybe a tan...just a healthy glow!
i'm so happy that i finally got a ticket, i was so stressed about this.
and i will hopefully have enough time to catch the chagall exhibit in st. pete that starts today! sweet.
i'm looking forward to moscow, even though the forecast calls for rain.
