I have always very much appreciated Spike Lee as a director - but after watching just the first two acts of 'When the Levees Broke,' I truly believe our society is lucky/blessed/etc that he exists and has hence, given so much to the world.

it's extremely eloquent. There have been numerous stories in the news about how individuals in NOLA have rebounded despite the tragedy of Hurricane Katrina. Spike Lee illustrates the resilience of spirit despite how the government at all levels failed in response to the hurricane. it's a critical distinction and suggests that without the persistant drive for social change many many more marginalized populations in our society will remain similarly vulnerable and then, eventually, summarily dispensed.

you should totally check it out. Spike Lee blows me away.
