Adventure 1, Intro, [Accidental Video]

Oct 27, 2011 00:21

[One second Sora was holding on to Riku's hand about to cry his eyes out
and the next he was on his knees on some old street with a PCD in his
hands instead. It took him a second to realize he wasn't where he was
supposed to be.]

Huh...?

[His grip tightens on the PCD.]

No. This is not happening. Not after I-[He jumps up to his feet.] No! Riku! Kairi!

[All he hears, at first, is his name being called in that voice he hasn't heard in months. And his first thought is, as always, to answer. And he does so, without even looking at the PCD.]

You know that only works when you're aiming it at a keyhole, right? Come on, Sora, you're smarter than that.

[And then he realizes, a second too late, just what name he just said. And just who's voice that is.

And all he can think is: Five hours ago I was sitting in front your headstone, telling Ukitake that I didn't want you to come back and here you are.]

[Last time it was a wish, this time it was a life changing decision. Timing, Sora. Yours really sucks.

You're gonna have to give him a moment as the feed switches off and he rage quits life.]

[And ten minutes later, life has been sufficiently rage quit and he's back. This time actually holding the PCD, his tone of voice much, much less off handed then it had been before.]

You always show up yelling. Didn't anyone ever teach you to speak at a normal volume. Tch. Idiot.

[And then there's silence, followed by a soft sigh.]

I'm right here, Sora. Kairi's back home, where she belongs.

[Another pause.]

If you press the yellow button on the side of the device, it'll send me your coordinates and I'll come find you.

So you can stop yelling before you annoy someone else.

[When he hears Riku's voice he fumbles with the device that the voice came from. When he saw Riku there, on the other side of whatever this was, and that was a glorious thing. A feeling akin to elation filled him.]

Riku! You're okay! And you look like yourself!

[And then he was gone again. And he shook the device as if that would help Riku fall right out of it.]

Riku? W-wait. Come back. Riku?

[And then he was back again and Sora's heart did another flop. You were going to kill him Riku.]

Back...home? What-

[He fiddles with the device until he found the yellow button and pushed it.]

What's going on? Where are we? Where are you? You were gone for so long and then I was gone and then you were gone again and-

[And he accidentally hits a button that cuts the feed.]

[He sighs heavily as the feed is cut, rolling his eyes upwards, as if somehow the ceiling of Ukitake's house held the answer to the question of How the fuck to deal with this?

But he found nothing. Which mean that Sora was going to be getting a call back.]

Thanks for hanging up on me, Sora. I can feel how much you missed me already.

[Sora currently does not know the meaning of joke.]

What? No! I missed you a lot Riku. You've been gone so long and then I thought, finally, we could all be together again, and then I was gone again. But you're here! You're still here and I-

[Could you hear his voice wavering Riku?]

I miss you.

[Riku currently doesn't know the meaning of sympathy. Also, that wasn't a joke.]

You're in a place called Adstringendum, Sora. Another world, basically. There's no way back home or to the World That Never Was or the Dark Margin or where ever you cam from. There's no keyhole, believe me, I already looked.

I've been here for nine months. So, technically, you're the one who's been gone.

[And then there's a pause and a loud annoyed sound as he runs his fingers through his hair and tugs.]

I'll be there soon, alright? Just... stay there.

Kay.

[He just slumps down, dropping the Keyblade. It disappeared before it even hit the dirt. Riku was mad at him. That had to be it. That had to be why he was acting like this. He didn't really understand what he said about Adstringendum and there being no way out, but he'd figure that out later. Right now he was too busy staring at the back of his clenched fists in the dirt trying not to cry. What did he do? Was it because he was gone so long? He could ask when he got there. Wherever here really was. Stupid new worlds and their stupid making things complicated.]

[It takes him longer than Sora was probably expecting. Mostly because he didn't come straight to him. No, he went home instead, tidying up the house quickly and setting up the room next to his, an attempt to keep Sora from invading his own once he brought him back there ( ... )

[And for that entire hour and a half Sora just sat there staring at his hands. After about forty minutes he thought Riku was never going to come, that he was just dreaming or something and some tears decided not to stay behind the dam Sora was building. They dropped into the fog that curled and uncurled around his hands.

But then Riku showed up. He slowly turned his head and pulled his hands away from the dirt. He was here. He was right here. That's what he thought the last time, but then he was gone again. Right when he touched him. Poof. Carefully, slowly, he reached over and touched his arm as if doing so would make him disappear. Nope. Still there. And then he couldn't help it anymore. He was clinging to that sweater, head dropped and crying.]

I'm sorry. I'm really sorry. I dunno what I did but I'll fix it. Please don't hate me. Please. I'm sorry.

[He freezes. For a brief moment, he simply holds still, sure that if he does so the illusion will fade and Sora will go back to not being there.

But then he doesn't and he's clutching at him and he can hear and feel the intensity of his tears as he presses into him. The weight of his words are like heavy blows directly aimed at his heart. He doesn't hate Sora. He could never, ever hate Sora. No matter what may have transpired between them in the past. No matter how many times Sora came and went, he could never hate him.

What had he told Sango the very first time they had ever spoken of something else being between them? That Sora was the most important thing in the world to him. His most precious and important person. And right now that person was leaning against him, crying tears of sadness and pain because he thought he had done something wrong.

His hand lifted slowly, running through soft brown spikes carefully.]You didn't do anything wrong, Sora. What ever's happened to me isn't your fault. And I could never blame you for it ( ... )

[For a little while Sora is reduced to sniffles and soft hiccups. And then Riku was touching his hair. And tilting his chin up and saying that it wasn't his fault and he felt a lot like his heart lightened just at those words.]

But...if you're not there then there's no point. I told Kairi I wouldn't come home until I brought you with me. I can't go home. Not without you.
