Project Idea:
Print out basic Doll Shirts on the embroidery machine.
Embroider the front of the shirt.
Lay the back of the shirt (un cut) face down on top of the embroider front still in the hoop.
Embroider a running stitch outline of the shirt
Embroider the seam of the shirt. (Sides and shoulders)
Cut out shirt
Turn right side out.
It would not be a fitted T. And the neck and sleeves would be unfinished edges. But you could crank them out.
To do a fitted shirt:
Use a large enough hoop to print the front and back side by side
Use a running stitch to outline the cut lines of the shirts.
Sew as normal.
A bit slower, but it would simplify things.
You could use the same trick with a few patterns as long as they fit in the hoop area.
You could easily adapt this to a laser engraver as well.
Cut and emboss the fabric. Sew as normal.
It would make mass production of a design easier.
