Laser engrave fabric?

It turns out you can laser engrave fabric. Who knew!
That opens up possibilities...

Also a laser engrave could easily cut out Pepakura files in paper, plastic or wood.
That too opens up a lot of possibilities....

I think I will be taking a close look at a laser engraver.
They even have a sign up list to notify you when a pre-owned unit is up for sale.

So I got the idea of embossing the fabric with a repeating pattern, and then embroidering on that
