Yard work - The Yardaning

Spring is here now :)

Saturday was the first warm day I had off. And I took advantage of it to get some yard work done.

I meant to just trim the tree in the front. Prune back some of the branches as a prelude to removing it later.

My goal was to bag as much yard trash as possible. Because there is still a lot to be removed, and I can only throw away so much at a time, my goal is to max out my trash every week. And to be honest I feel weird not filling up my trash every weekend. Like I am slacking off if I don't have 10 big bags of trash.

I got a little carried away. 3 big branches and I had cut half of it down!
(The half that hangs over the driveway.)

I then cut up and bagged the whole mess Saturday and Sunday. Filling up about 20 bags.

I will try to get the other half down soon. It looks kind of gimpy now.

Last night I started trimming the trees over the back driveway. I removed the smallest one completely. I still have a lot to trim back, but I will need the big ladder for that.
Poe doesn't want me to pull them out until I am ready to replace them. They do offer some good shade. But I need to thin them out. That will help reduce the amount of leaves and seed pods they drop and make them that much easier to remove later.

I got a big pile of branches to cut up. That should keep me busy for the rest of the week.

I borrowed Poe's iPod and loved it. Especially books on tape! I need to get my own eventually. But I want to wait until after I do my taxes and pay down some credit cards before making any more gadget purchases.

I called both Home Depot and Lowe's for a estimate to replace the side fence and gate.
Hopefully I can get that done ASAP.

Poe wants to get a dog very soon. So I need to get the fences in good working order.

I wish I could a new fence around the entire property. That would be ideal, but expensive. I will talk with the contractor about options for the future. At least get a general estimate for what I want to do for the whole yard.
