He's left behind in the street as the cop cars pull out, pacing back and forth and still not able to rein in the maelstrom of emotions. Fear and despair threaten to overwhelm him, and he finally stops and pounds a fist against the trunk of his car with a yell. That way, at least the pain gives him an excuse for the tears pricking his eyes.

If he were in the habit of admiring evil genius, he'd be impressed by how quickly and efficiently they were dealt with. But he can't afford that at this point -- the sheer magnitude of what's facing him hits him like a blow to the gut and he has to lean against his car before he falls down. Kono's been arrested; Jenna's too much of an unknown quantity, still. He can't trust Chin now -- and so much for ohana, since he went running back to HPD as soon as things got tough. No, he's the only one who can investigate and possibly get them out of this mess, and it's only a matter of time before they come for him, too. He knows how Wo Fat feels about loose ends...

His heart aches as he thinks that at least Gracie and Rachel are no longer in immediate danger, though they're probably not all that much safer in Jersey... He made his choice though, putting McGarrett above them, and damn it if they end up in danger because of this whole mess-- But he just can't leave McGarrett to that fate. He knows the man is innocent -- he knows Wo Fat is behind all of this -- and he'd never be able to live with himself if he didn't at least try to fix it.

He just doesn't have the first idea where the hell to even start.
