Just Wanted to Say...

Yesterday, the front page headline on the Philippine Daily Inquirer read, "Ex-gov't officials tell GMA Cabinet to quit."

Those in the cabinet have no plans of quittingThe call for GMA and her cabinet to quit came from a group that chooses to call itself the "La Salle 60." They released a statement at the gate of La Salle Green Hills and in their ( Read more... )

XD Libby, you have just proved that LJ/blogging makes for good journalism. I have not much time to read the news lately and when I do I get pretty confused. So, I thank you for sharing your political opinions. Hehehehehe.

And I couldn't help but totally agree with you.

Aww. Yes, I can understand how it is to have to catch up once you haven't had the time to tune into the news. And regarding my sharing my political opinions, you're welcome. I don't normally make outright comments about politics, but with everything going on, I just felt like I needed to take a stand.

Oh, and it's nice to know that someone sees where I'm coming from. Thanks for commenting. =)

You know where I stand with regard this matter. It is refreshing to come across a well thought out editorial piece like this one. Yes, I do consider this a brave editorial piece because (1) you took an unpopular stand and managed to argue well for it, (2) it is fair and balanced but potent in the sense that it directs attention to an often overlooked aspect of the issue (sheds light on the "profound in the obvious" instead of the other way around), and (3) it is packed with insight.

You are getting better at this. I must watch my back. You might suddenly sneak up on me and take my place as the group's political analyst. Haha...

Take your place as the group's political analyst? I beg to differ. Besides, I never was into politics. So automatically, I didn't think much of politicians. When Ruffy Biazon spoke at my recital in Insular Life Theater and said I would go far, I wasn't paying attention. I've been stereotyping politicians too much. But now that I am choosing to be more tuned in to the news, I am feeling a change of heart. I now see that these politicians have the position and influence to make a significant change. They have it all. They're just overcome by their lack of sensitivity to their conscience. They no longer see why they're in their position in the first place.

Yes, Jan, I know where you stand. It is very encouraging that you find my entry back there a brave editorial piece. In writing for radio and TV class [where we are now taking up news writing] on Monday, our teacher was asking us for our views/opinions on the current political situation, especially with the Mass that was held on Sunday. I did not speak up thinking I might just be ( ... )

You do not have to thank me for that. For as long as I could remember, you have always been one of the better writers in the group. I am not shocked that, before wanting to become an illustrious musician, you dreamt of becoming a world-renowned journalist. Just go for it (hopefully, you will realize it through Ateneo and not through that constantly inundated school in Taft)! As they say: "Aim for the moon; if you fail, you will fall among the stars." Cheesy, but true.

I don't like the Taft campus anyway. But, we'll see. =|

I'm sure I don't even need to tell you this, but I agree with everything you said.

It's just so fucking stupid how people seem to think that impeachment is going to solve everything. Because that just worked so wonderfully well with Erap, didn't it! Then just watch -- freaking NOLI or someone will take over, and in a couple more years it'll be Edsa eleventy-trillion with everyone whining for him to be impeached! UGH.

The cronies just need to take over the world already dammit!
