See I am totally envious of the celebrations you get to live in. Because I live in a typically catholic country, I have never really experienced a PROPER eid...I mean sure I go to JK and do the namaaz, and then greet our mosque leaders and family after, but that is normally where it stops. I used to think this was because our type of Islam didn't give as much importance to the whole Ramadan and Eid process as Sunni Muslims do, but it is not the case. I think it may just be something to do with my family. I mean Saahil's family have the big lunch in which all family and friends share in...and how do I know this? (No I wasn't invited...god that would be weird LOL)...I know because there are pictures from it up on Facebook...
But in our family it is different...they don't push us to go to mosque, and we don't do the big family thing after...it is almost like we pick the religious side and forget the community side. Sometimes I think that if we had kept both within our family, I wouldn't have been so inclined to leave it as soon as I can...though the idea makes Saahil happy...less for us to worry about in the way of nosey khojas.

Sorry for the randomly philosophising entry and many mentions of Saahil...It is pretty early in the morning here and I'm not really awake due to the lack of coffee and so my train of thought tends to go off the rails a lot...that and the last person I actually spoke to was Saahil ^_^

Ha ha. Nah, it's all quite all right. I think it's cute when you mention Saahil. Ha ha! Ooh, and did you just say coffee? I can't believe you just did! Now you've got me craving. I'm a coffee addict and I haven't had any of the good thing in a while!
