Either I'm old or the education community has failed our children.
Have I mentioned that I'm a children's librarian?
So a young teen comes into the library and asks if we have "Diary of A Young Girl, Anne Frank." I was happy to walk the patron over to the biography section and pull the book for her. With a rather crestfallen expression the teen says, "Oh, this doesn't look very interesting." Dumbfounded, I asked her if she knew what it was about. "No." she replies, "What is the book about anyway?" I went on to explain that it was a diary of a young Jewish girl who's family went into hiding during WWII. "Okay then." Says the teen, "now it looks interesting." wwwhhhhaaaaaaaa?
