The Return of Libratiger

Dec 17, 2006 17:16

I'm back. Or at least I'm going to try to be.

There are a lot of reasons for the return. First, I managed to do myself proud by completing this year's Nanowrimo challenge. Anyone who wants to see my profile there and see how I did can see it here: http://www.nanowrimo.org/userinfo.php?uid=147680. As you'll see, I managed to write every day (except Thanksgiving and the Saturday following because my Dad was in town). I want to try to keep that up, even if it's just writing in a journal. They say that if you want to be a writer you have to write every day, and I am definitely interested in becoming a better writer.

Second, some of my friends and I are putting together a roleplaying book that will most likely be distributed digitally. That means we all need to have a larger cyber-presence, so I'm on a mission to collect friends. Anyone interested?...Anyone?

Speaking of friends, LJ has two blogs that I follow rather religiously, those of George R.R. Martin and Elyse Sewell. For those of you who don't know who they are, George is the author of my favorite fantasy series ever, the "song of Fire and Ice" series, and Elyse is the coolest ever contestant on "America's Next Top Model."

Another reason is that I set up a MySpace profile today and I can't even get an effing picture uploaded. I never really got the whole MySpace craze, and I am still rather baffled. Maybe if I stay up until 2 in the morning tonight, it will let me upload. For now, however, I still like LJ better.

I suppose another reason is to keep myself honest. I've been feeling very motivated lately on a number of aspects of my life, particularly in pursuing my personal projects and in improving my lifestyle health-wise. I think it will be more difficult to let myself get away with not meeting my goals if I have to report failures to my LJ friends. The other side of the coin, of course, is that it will feel great to tell you guys about my successes.

So, as excited as I am about being back, I am currently using this entry as a means to procrastinate getting some work done. I've been feeling motivated today to do some comic book work, so I'd better get to it!
