We have wings. Not many people know that. They see us either as tall, pale, beautiful creatures who ride out chasing the wind, or tiny with fluttering wings living in flowers. While the first is more apt of us, and the second more of pixies, there is truth in both. We hide them more often than not. Difficult to deal with them--they get in the way--so we generally tuck them away. It's magic, not anything physical really, the ability to make parts of ourselves insubstantial. Everything's connected and most things are possible.
There's nothing quite so freeing as flight, though my Lady would not agree, of course. To be trapped so would be different. But to have the choice to soar with the eagles, to look down on the land and see the patterns of the land and the trees, the way the rivers flow into lakes and criss cross fields. I feel sorry for mortals, who cannot do so, and I keep waiting for the opportunity to explore this new land in such a fashion. To see your buildings, your streets, and the patterns you follow, the plans your architects made. It's fascinating the things you can learn that way.
