(I love this!) You know, Derek has been perfectly careful of human frailty even when utterly out of his mind. It makes me think Derek was trained to be careful with the humans from birth -- I wonder if that kind of reaction is what he'd have expected from the old Hale alpha if he'd ever lightly punched one of the human pack members. I mean, he broke Issac's arm for whining, it seems like the werewolf scale for physical reprimand is miles away from the human one.

Thank you! I completely agree, I think at some point he must have been taught how to contain his strength, because most of the world is made up of squishy and breakable humans. I definitely think there are rules for werewolf interaction and for interaction with humans.
