Yesterday I was supposed to go see
The Soloist, but was feeling too fragile to cope with the movie...as much as I enjoyed the columns when they were in the LA Times. I just wasn't up to dealing with Schizophrenia, and homelessness at all yesterday.
So I convinced A. that it would be a good Idea if I just came over to hang out and made lemon curd instead. Mom brought up a bunch of Meyer Lemons on her last visit, and I love lemon curd :), but it needs to be shared as I cannot consume a batch by myself before it spoils. A. also took me over to
Rasputin Records, which I had been avoiding, because I couldn't think of a way to go in without spending money...(or at least really, really wanting too....) I was mostly good, only acquiring
Robin Hood Prince of Thieves, the extended version, and the first season of
Get Smart. Also nothing changes a bad day into a good day quite like making something, lovely or tasty...in this case both! I inflicted both choices on A. who had never seen either, :) and I was surprised at how much they worked back in to the extended version of RH Prince of Thieves, There's an entire subplot they shoved back into the movie, Kevin Costner still can't act, but there's more Alan Rickman....
I hauled out the fabric for Mrs. Banks this morning and marked all the alterations on my muslin. By the end of the day I hope to have some progress on that front. I've given up on remembering how exactly to work the Kenmore and have ordered the manual--threads no problem, but I've blanked on the stitch settings...
So off to the farmer's Market, Rhubarb's in season, and I think I need to try this scrumptious recipe for Rhubarb Buckle I found....
