Multi Fandom Poetry Meme

3: I think you can see where this is going. Write a very quick 50-word half-drabble for each fandom (try to do it all in one sitting - make your brain explode!), using the line from the poem as a prompt. You don't have to include it in the half-drabble - it's just inspiration.

4: Bravo! Have a cookie.

Bones: And seas be salt with tears they shed,   (Finality - Robert Service)

Angela gazed at her best friend with concern.  “Sweetie, you’re taking this too personally.  You need to get some sleep.”

“Someone is wondering what happened to her Angela.  We can’t bring her back, but identifying her can end the waiting.”

“Yeah, nothing personal about that for you Bones,” said Booth.

Doctor Who: I have been to hell and back many times.  (Who Am I? - Carl Sandberg)

(How freaky is this match?)

The Doctor scoffed at its prediction, and launched the TARDIS toward their next adventure.  It had been chained in a pit for millennia.  It didn’t have mystical knowledge; it was just a good psychologist.  And yet, in time with his beating hearts, he heard “die in battle, die in battle.”

Star Wars: If I might teach thee wit, better it were,   (Sonnet 140 - William Shakespeare)

Chewie ducked to avoid a blaster bolt and barked a question.  Han said, “He doesn’t live on Ord Mantell.”

“Maybe that rumor of a price on your head isn’t just a rumor.”

“Don’t sound so hopeful your worship.  You know you’d miss me.”

“Right now I just hope this guy misses me.”

The West Wing: The meaning, not the name, I call: for thou     (Paradise Lost: Book 7 - John Milton)

(This was the hardest one.)

“DONNA!”

Josh jumped when she popped out of his office and said, “You bellowed?”

“Geez, you nearly gave me a heart attack!  How did you know I was back?”

“I’m a good assistant Josh; I always know where you are.”

Josh made a balance with his hands. “‘Assistant’, ‘stalker’ . . . it’s a fine line.”

True Blood: The south wind brought it longing, and the east wind despair,   (Owen Aherne and His Dancers - William Butler Yeats)

(If you know the show you know that this is another freaky match.)

Sookie was devastated by Bill’s defection to Mississippi.  She couldn’t read his mind, but she knew in her heart he was lying about preferring Loreena.  Eric warned her to stay away, but Stackhouses fight for their own.  No werewolves, vampire bitches, or 3000-year-old kings could keep her from her man.
