The Doctor tugged on his earlobe and said, “That . . . may be the most unusual thing that anyone has ever called me, and in my case that’s really saying something."
River turned around with a big grin and said, “Lock up the hens. It’s going to be a timey wimey kind of day.”
Neither stories nor dry explanations in the databanks had prepared River for the shock of seeing a different man emerge from the TARDIS, especially when he looked even younger than he had when she first met him.
“Why do I get the feeling that this story is heading toward you doing something really foolish?” asks River.
His normal response to such a situation would be to find some critical piece of maintenance that would keep him in another part of the TARDIS for hours.
