An open letter to ... me

Sep 29, 2008 12:30

Dear me,

From now on, unless you have something kind or encouraging to say, shut the hell up and leave me alone.  I'm really tired of your mental naysaying and whining.  You'd think that after 37 years you would know that the only thing that revolves around you is ... you.  So, be nice to people, like people, make friends, but when it comes down to who you are and what you want to be then remember than the only thing that matters in the end is how you feel about it.  So quit using excuses like "I'll look stupid doing that" or "people will think I'm an idiot".  People really don't give a flying fuck what you're doing or why, they're too busy telling their own mental naysayers to shut up too.
Oh and quit smoking.  It's really nasty and expensive and not very good for you and you don't even like it so why the hell would you let it continue to control your life.  Remember - no smoking = more time for other things you want to do (crafts ... hint, hint) and more stamina for things you want to do (Taekwondo ... hint, hint) and more money to do things (do you really want a list, I think you know).
Also, if you imagine yourself failing at something, then you likely will fail at it.  So, try imagining yourself doing well and maybe you'll be surprised how much further you get. Oh, btw walking and stretching are still free activities so try them more often.  You might enjoy them.
As for work, what will be will be, so quit sweating what's going to happen next, okay?
Phantasy Accessories -  that might work.  Look it up, check domain availability.  You aren't spending the rest of your life wanting to start your business and not doing it.  It's long past the time that you said yes to your goals instead of no.
Okay, done lecturing.  Love you (even if I don't always like you)
