I received a 1 gig stick mp3 player as a reward from a survey site that I joined some time back (Zoompanel, if anyone is interested ... they're legit. You won't get rich off them, but hey who turns down the occasional free item?) Anyway, the earbuds that came with the player, quite frankly, sucked. They were too big for my ears and hurt like hell just to put in. So I switched to using a set of headphones that I own. Great, they work, they're comfortable ... problem. The mp3 player would dangle at my side and I was worried about it falling off all the time. Solution. I crocheted an amulet bag for my mp3 player, using
Lion Brand Magic Stripes yarn (color Purple Pattern). This is a sock weight Wool/Nylon blend yarn that is self striping. Creating the bag was easy, just crocheted a rectangle big enough to fit the player, stitched up the sides and added a crochet chain necklace? and voila! One cool, stripey mp3 bag. Now I don't have to worry about losing the player, or it getting broken or caught in anything. I just stick the amulet bag around my neck, slip the player in and go. I mean, if iPods can have cool little bags then so can my little mp3 player. Best part, I still have plenty of yarn left to make a pair of socks if I ever get around to trying. I might try crocheted socks first, but I don't know yet.
Oh, picture? Later, okay? I have a ton of stuff to do before work, but if I get a chance to I will.
I had a minute, so here's a picture. Note, after I took the picture, I decided the bag needed a little something. So, I went through my collection of charms I got for incredibly cheap at Big Lots and added a little hula girl to the bag strap. She's way cute.
