The Gatecrasher by Madeleine Wickham

This was a fun chic lit book.

Fleur's modus operandi is to go to funerals or memorial services, pick up on the grieving widow. Then she inserts herself into their lives and trust, takes them for all the gifts she can get and steals some money from their credit card and vamooses. She calculates just how much she can steal where the man will feel too embarrassed to go to the police but she gets a bundle.

But she slowly falls for the new guy and his family. There are lots of complications. But it is chic lit and all ends quite happily.

I like Madeleine Wickham's, aka Sophie Kinsella's, writing. So all was good.
