Gen, short for Genevieve, goes with her family (for 2 months) to Camp Frontier, an adventure in living as 1890s pioneers in Montana. Mom is in love with Little House on the Prairie and that's why she chose this as their vacation. In order to bribe Gen into going with a good attitude, her parents have bought her a cell phone that she'll be able to use after they get back.
So she sneaks it into the camp.
This childrens' book is told in Gen's voice. There are some texts to her friends about her life, but mostly is just first person narrative. I was kind of disappointed at that because I thought it would all be in blog form (you know, judging from the title). But the book is good anyway.
Four families are vacationing at Camp Frontier, all with differing abilities.
Adventures ensue.
I really did like this book. It was creative and amusing.
(I got it out from my local library. It came highly recommended by one of the librarians.)
