Cryoburn by Lois McMaster Bujold

I think I wasn't in a state of good humor when I read this book. Hazelchaz read it first and told me how funny it was. I rarely laughed. Then he would quote something I had read back to me and it would be funny.

So, it was a funny book every though I'm evidently not in the mood to catch it on my own these days.

It definitely was an engrossing book though. I really liked it (though not as much as the one before - A Civil Campaign).

In this book, Miles is called away from his family to find out what's going on on the planet Kibou-Daini. This planet has all these companies which freeze people before they die in hopes that they'll be revived when a cure is found for whatever ails them.

Miles gets kidnapped and so does Armsman Roic. They each have to escape. Adventures ensue.

This really was a good book. One couldn't have expected less from a new Miles novel. Watch out for the ending though. That's all the hint/spoiler you'll get for that.
