I officially don't suck!

Mr. Sands, theatre critic of AMBUSH magazine wasn't a fan of the show in its entirety in all respects, BUT...he gave me a personal shout-out of sorts. I got a tap on my shoulder while sitting the audience for Senior One Acts, expecting a friend, when instead I found myself encountering Brian Sands. He seemed to be a fan of my work, since he saw me even in my first production at Loyola everrrr a.k.a. Lysistrata. Amazing...I'm definitely flattered.

Still, one performance redeemed this otherwise tepid production.  As Paulina, the Queen's Stalwart gentlewoman, Monica Harris spoke the Bard's words trippingly. She revealed an intelligent textual analysis with believable passion and a properly modulated voice. Even when dissembling, she betrayed no "acting." She simply "was."  With a better director to guide her, she could do exemplary work in Greek dramas or as one of Schiller's Queens in Mary Stuart.

Hm...tepid.  Poo.  Can't please everyone, eh?  I was satisfied with the show personally, and all the more grateful that my particular role got such rave reviews.  Makes me happy inside...like I'm really getting it.  *sigh*

Easter break is from Thursday through Sunday.  Short...but long enough.  Hopefully I make the most of my free time.
