I did go to Beverly's after work and pick up ribbon and hooks & bars... and more! I'd been keeping an eye out whenever I went to Michael's or JoAnn's for some interesting jewelry findings, but had never really found anything that I liked, so I'd kind of given up on the idea of making jewelry to go with this outfit. BUT... Lo and behold, Beverly's had some gold filligree squares that just screamed necklace at me, so I got those, some earring hooks, some jump rings, some beads in blue and green to match my dress, etc.
I then got home and realized that I do not, in fact, have needle nose pliers. (I guess the ones I thought I had were at my parents'.) Arrrrr. So, I'm going to stop by the Ace Hardware near where I live and get myself a pair once and for all.
I also painted the mask and tied on the ribbons. I'm not sure how thrilled I am with the lots of ribbons dangling down, so I may take some of them off, but on the whole, I'm pretty pleased with the mask.
I didn't get much other sewing done last night, so I'm going to really have to work my butt off tonight and tomorrow... but it *will* be wearable! I only have about six inches of binding left to stitch, and the hooks and bars on the overskirt (and the eyelets). I'm a little scared since I haven't actually been able to try the whole thing on at once, but I figure, worst case scenario, it's probably going to be pretty dimly lit anyway, so nobody will notice if it fits a little strangely. :)
