I did, in fact, ditch scottish country dance last night. Instead, I walked to the market, cooked dinner, did a bit of hand sewing on my corset cover, sewed down one more strip of trim on my 1860s skirt, sewed down the bone casings on my edwardian corset, hammered the eyelets on my belt and waistcoat, and finished the little bit of hand-stitching on my belt. And all before Steve got home from class (at which point we watched the Rocketeer and ate shredded chicken smothered in barbecue sauce).
Of course, if you read that carefully, you'd see that what I actually just said is that the only project that's 100% finished at this point is my belt. Snarf.
Today, I need to stop by Home Despot to pick up assorted bits and bobs for my steampunk apron, and JoAnn's for buttons to finish up my waistcoat. Tomorrow, I swing by Farthingales to pick up a busk for the Edwardian corset. After that, I'm off on another marathon sewing weekend. (My last chance to finish everything before Costume College! Eep!)
