(no subject)
I wrote a semi-meaningful entry last night that made me feel much better upon its completion---Soooo of course livejournal didn't post it...Anyway it went a little something like this:
I visited Tara K8 in the hospital last night. I didn't even know she was in the hospital. I was on my way home to do laundry and stopped by the hospital to see my mom at work and I ran into K8's mom in the parking lot. Tara Kate's been sick off and on since October which I knew about. The funny thing is that it all started with a toenail that she ripped off and ended up getting a staph infection in. From there she developed mono and a host of other things and eventually ended up with a blood infection called Mersa which is a very fatal infection. She was on her death bed with it on New Year's day. The thing is that it all could have been prevented if she had been receiving the proper care from the clinic on her base in Fort Bragg. It turns out that she was being treated by a first year med student who completely misdiagnosed her, didn't even pick up on half of what was wrong with her, and kept telling her that there was absolutely nothing wrong with her that she was making all of it up to avoid being deployed to Iraq. She's had a fever of a 104 for a lot of the time and the clinic didn't know that because the themometer they were using was broken and they didn't even know it until k8 was deathly ill. So much for healthCARE huh?? Despite the pain and the pain meds, she seems to be her same old cheery self. We spent about an hour playing catch up in her hospital room. We'd talked in mid-December but it seems that since then both of our lives have fallen apart, but hers much moreso than mine. She couldn't believe what had happened with Brandon and me. After all, the three of us spent 24/7 together in March/April before she left. She watched us fall in love. Ole' Kate... She thinks he's gone psycho. I told her that I don't know what's happened to him so she inisisted upon calling him to find out. I told her she was free to do what she wanted. I hope he answers if she calls. She's really sick and I know she'd love to talk to him. It seems like k8 is the only one that believes in us anymore. Tara Kate's like everyone's angel. She leaves and then our whole worlds fall apart. lol...maybe this is a sign that she should fight her wars in Cynthiana instead of Iraq.
I would also like to thank the person who advised that I go to Wildcat Textbooks to sell back my books. I'm always open to more money. Also, who are you? Your comment was anonymous, so I was just curious as to who my advice-giver was....
Well I guess that's about it for now. I've gotta work tonight and then it's down to business- homework business that is.
UK vs Mississippi tomorrow night at 8!!!!! woohoo!!!! I love basketball season...I've only missed one game so far lol...
I was slightly disappointed in The Bachelorette last night. I wish all the guys would just stop the whole "on my best behavior" act and just be themselves so that I could decide who Jen is going to marry haha
