Just a theory...
I have a theory as to why it is common for female students to sleep with their graduate advisers. Women sexually peak around their early to mid twenties, which is also when most women are in graduate program. Add this biological fact with the social atmosphere, expectations and a shared interest and close working conditions...one can see how this happens. Fortunately, that is not an issue in our department.
