cuz, like, seirously
my boss said that ^^^ last night. i'm not kidding. just like that too. i felt brain cells leaking out of my head. so i responded with an oh-so-surfer-dude seriously! blah. the joys of this job. lol
sadly, i'm grounded to my bed, and not allowed to leave it. i can barely talk, i'm running a fever, and so i can't go to work. i'm not really a very happy camper over this. but i didn't get to sleep until 8 a.m. because i kept coughing and gagging all night. i can't tell you how many times i sat up and got out of bed to not disturb Husband. he's taking care of me today - having me take 2 vitamin c's every hour - and then drink emergen-c, and eat soup. he's a good guy.
he just took my temperature with a car tester. i'm not kidding. fortunately, his dad found a real thermometer.
okay - so holidays. yes, they were good. not quite what i had anticipated for holidays, but it went well. i didn't get my own little christmas tree, much to my major disappointment. i did however hang lights in my room, and that's brought me (sidenote: just brought me the thermometer dippied in mouthwash...that's his santitation - i sent him back for alcohol) great joy. we were supposed to go to my parents house for christmas eve, but that just didn't happen. we were still wrapping presents at 2 a.m. things just got crazy. so we stayed here instead, and then got up and did christmas morning here and then went to my parents house. came back and did lunch here, and fell asleep. then we got back up and went to my parents house and though it wasn't the plan, we spent the night at their house. okay, so we watched 2 movies before we went to bed, and one was the polar express (my first time seeing it, and i really enjoyed it a lot - the cgi animation is amazing) and the other movie i can't remember... i think it was a cartoon-y kind of movie. darn. i'll come back to it when i remember.
anyway - then i got up yesterday and went to work all day. it was good. time and a half. yay. and i was going to go today, but then i got sick. so now i'm stuck in bed. and i know i said that twice. it's very sad.
here's what i got:
lots of cash
a razor
candy
shampoo/conditioner
gc to a bookstore
lots of gc's to restaurants
a shirt
dishes
dish towels
and A NINTENDO DS!!! wOOt! the PINK KIND! YAY!
and games
and some other fun things.
i still don't have a job - which is a bummer. hopefully something will come together in the 11th hour here. it's rediculous what some people want and what they pay. a lot want people to have a degree in childhood education/development along with many other certifications (i even saw one that wanted a degree in nursing) - and then the pay is crap - 350-400 a week - for a 40 hour week. have they lost their minds?! it's usually twins, or three babies under 18 months (due to step families and whatnot).
what else? not sure.
i'm starting up a book study in january on breaking free by beth moore. if anyone is interested, please comment. :D
