I recently started to get back into watching anime.  I will admit it's hard.  I can't simply be satisfied with magical girl anime anymore.  Maybe because I'm older?  I need a deeper level.

Unfortunately most of the time this is fucking impossible, because Satoshi Kon is dead and most anime that tries to become complicated or interesting just turns

Haha I thought so! Of course I did! As soon as I realized they were being released I got really excited and preordered them all. It's bizarre and interesting how much they changed (added scenes, completely redrew others) and then how much they ended up leaving looking totally bizarre.
