Fuck yeah, California!

Also, I mentioned this earlier, but - I'd actually, upon further consideration, be pretty happy to see Hillary drop out some time after she kicks Obama's ass in Kentucky; as that would be less damaging to his campaign than him losing there against no opponent at all.

I agree... though if she refrained from launching any more "Me and McCain are the best ones to keep America safe!" attacks, that'd be good.

I'm pleased with this, of course... but at the same time, a part of me is kind of cynically bracing for it to become some big electoral deal like in 2004. I don't really think a gay marriage ballot question will change the electoral college outcome of California at all, but if it turns into some big "every other state rushes to pass anti- amendments"...

Although, I guess a lot of them already did, so...

It's pretty exciting, and the above is correct - the states that will ban gay marriage have already banned gay marriage - this isn't going to drive turnout the way Massachusetts did. Having said that, California has a long fight ahead to defeat a silly ballot measure on the November ballot that predicted this decision. I think we'll win, but I'm definitely concerned.

My concern is that California passed Prop 22 by 61%, and the anti-gay crowd is geared up with a Proposition to modify the state Constitution. IIRC they will only need 50%, which I'm very concerned will happen.

Hillary and her spokespeople have said she'd stay in through the June 3 primaries. I think she'll drop out between June 4 and June 6.
