Hey Y'all

May 01, 2008 09:11

Today on the Metro I saw a guy - young, maybe 21, white - wearing a shirt that said "OBAMA/WRIGHT FOR AMERIKKKA". Dude, seriously, what the fuck? That doesn't even make any sense. I hate people.

Anyways, hey, have some links.

++ Obama catches up in support from Hill.

++ Clinton gas-tax proposal criticized. I think it's an awful idea myself, even though I love Hillary. I think I heard Sen Kerry say it would save individual drivers like $25 but cost the highway system billions of dollars in revenue. Bah.

++ ExxonMobil profits up 17%. Ugh. Everytime I see those ads that the oil industry isn't as profitable as other industries, I want to throw up in my mouth. Gas is $3.69 a gallon at the station next to my house, and over $4 a gallon lots of places in the country. These guys are making out like bandits.

++ Female soldier gains Silver Star - and removal from combat.

++ With food prices at record highs (which I know about first-hand, working in a grocery store) consumers are clipping, scrimping and saving.

++ A strained Wright-Obama bond finally snaps.

++ Loss and furor take toll on Obama, poll finds.

++ While Clinton focuses, Obama is distracted.

++ Michelle Obama: Let's move past Wright, get back to issues. A-FUCKING-MEN.

++ McCain health plan could mean higher tax. Isn't that what the Republicans are terrified about the Democrats' plans, that it's gonna gouge the taxpayers? The hypocrisy, it burns.

++ Pittsburg overtakes L.A. as nation's sootiest city. That takes real talent.

++ Clinton, Obama pick up new superdelegates. Obama picked up a couple more than Clinton.

++ Telecoms and the Bush administration tried to hide snooping.

++ A new poll says Bush - not Wright or Bill Clinton - is voters' main concern.
