Happy Potomac Primary Day!

Feb 12, 2008 09:18

Today there are primaries being held in DC, Maryland and Virginia (my state). It felt really good to cast my vote for John McCain this morning. I really think he's gonna make a great president, ya know?

LOL. Just kidding, you all know who I really voted for. Unless you haven't been reading this blog for the last couple months or whatever.

I voted at 7:30am - I meant to get up and vote earlier, but I slept through my alarm clock or something, and it just didn't happen. When I got to my polling place, I was surprised - there was a line of like 17 people already. Soon there was a line behind me too. Altogether there were probably 40 people waiting in line. That's a great turnout for a primary. Definitely the best turnout I'd seen since the 2004 presidential election, and I've voted in plenty of local and state elections since then. No matter who wins this thing, I'm totally stoked that so many people are coming out to participate in the democratic process.

I took a picture of me with my "I VOTED!" sticker, but forgot to bring my camera's USB connector cord. So here's a pic of after I voted in November's elections. :D

In other news, Mike Luckovich always cracks me up.
