WaPo says Democrats are leading in early results.
Democrats jumped into an early lead in some key state Senate returns in Virginia this evening with only scattered precincts reporting, raising hopes for the party that Tuesday's election will hand them control of the chamber for the first time in a decade.
With about a third of votes counted, Democrat J. C. "Chap" Petersen led Republican incumbent Jeannemarie Devolites Davis in a key swing district in central Fairfax County. On the Eastern Shore, Democrat Ralph S. Northam was leading incumbent Republican Nick Rerras.

Not Larry Sabato
called it for Chap at like 5:30, when polls were still open, so who knows how reliable that information is.
