Today on my way to school, I met
Jeanmarie Devolities-Davis at the Vienna Metro station. She was shaking hands & introducing herself to commuters, standing with a dude dressed up in an elephant costume (gettit? cause she's a Republican?) which would have been way more clever yesterday.
My random observation is that she was really nice, which annoyed me, because I dislike her politically so much, and really want
Chap Petersen to win. She may claim that she's a moderate, but she's still a Republican, and this district (which has been trending strongly Democratic for the past couple election cycles) deserves better.
I don't know why I'm always so surprised when I meet a Republican politician and they turn out to be like, not breathing fire at me. They have to be at least a little nice, or else they wouldn't get elected in the first place. But still, it always surprises me.
In other news, I'm gonna be handing out flyers myself tonight at a Metro station. Go me. Oh! Another thing... I have a church thing on Tuesday night, the night of the election, and I don't know when I'll be home. So I probably won't be liveblogging the results of the election. But you can check out the
VA State Board of Elections Results page and of course all the local blogs like
Raising Kaine for the latest information all day Tuesday.
