++ So,
Gerald Ford's funeral was today. I watched some of it on my lunch break. Tom Brokaw's speech was nice. W was a fucking embarrasment, like always, who stumbled over every other word. *sighs* At any rate, I really don't have much to say about Ford's death. I respect that he was a President and probably a good man, but he was before my time. The only frame of reference I have is that he pardoned Nixon, which, WTF was that about? Whatevs. Moving along to other headlines...
++ Virgil Goode (R-VA, unfortunately) is
still a bigoted asshat.
Let us remember that we were not attacked by a nation on 9/11; we were attacked by extremists who acted in the name of the Islamic religion. I believe that if we do not stop illegal immigration totally, reduce legal immigration and end diversity visas, we are leaving ourselves vulnerable to infiltration by those who want to mold the United States into the image of their religion, rather than working within the Judeo-Christian principles that have made us a beacon for freedom-loving persons around the world.
Oh, STFU, SRLY. Jesus, like I needed another reason to be ashamed Virginia is my home state.
++ Kos promises
John Warner won't get a free ride from blogs if he decides to run for re-election this year. Damn straight.
++ I
really like Tom Brokaw.
++ I meant to link to this the other day: Richard Clarke talks about
what we're neglecting while we focus on Iraq.
++ Editor & Publisher has Rudy Giuliani's
top-secret plan for his White House bid. Ahaha!
++ LA Times looks at
Nancy Pelosi's first 100 Hours agenda.

Power-sipping bulbs get backing from Wal-Mart. Everyone should replace their incandescent bulbs with these
compact fluorescents. They last forever and use a fraction of the power incandescents use.
++ Newsweek has
10 easy ways to be green. Sidenote: the article talked about where to recycle iPods and cellphones; one great site to help you is
Call2Recycle. Check them out.
++ AP says
DC is close to getting a vote in Congress. FUCKING FINALLY. But I'm not holding my breath just yet - I remember seeing this exact same headline 2 years ago, and last year too.
++ Dear Mitt Romney:
it's never gonna happen. No love, Luna.
