Drive-by Headlines

Dec 19, 2006 19:43

Sorry I've been MIA. The holidays are seriously kicking my ass. At any rate, have some headlines.

++ Bush is adamant about increasing troops in Iraq. Whether or not that's a good idea is one thing; what I don't get is WHERE THE FUCK he plans on getting more troops from, what with the all-volunteer military stretched to the breaking point already.

++ The Joint Chiefs oppose Bush's troop increase suggestion.

++ Talk in class turns to God, setting off public debate on rights.

++ Women in science: the battle moves to the trenches.

++ WaPo has a front page article on Guiliani's chances in the '08 primaries, which aren't so good with social conservatives.

++ Mitt Romney: America's first Mormon president?. Hmmm, I have a hard time swallowing it.

++ The current Newsweek cover asks, Is America ready for Hillary or Obama?

++ Notable political moments of 2006.

++ Bush hits ANOTHER low approval rating.

++ Weed is the biggest cash crop in America, worth more than corn & wheat combined. Go war on drugs!

++ Sam Brownback wants to re-question a judicial nominee who made the grevious mistake of attending a lesbian wedding. Oh, the horror! *eyeroll*

++ The media is more interested in Laura Bush's skin condition than Iraq. Gah.
