First Fox News identified disgraced ex-Congressman (and future ex-con) Mark Foley as a Democrat. Now the
AP has tagged Foley as a Democrat, and
Google News has both Foley AND Hastert as Democrats.

If you see such labelling in your local news sources, (and you could well, since the AP story went out on the wire), please, email or call your local paper ASAP and demand an immediate and prominent retraction. (e.g., "Earlier versions of this story mistakenly identified Foley as a Democrat. Foley is a Republican.")
Fox doing it oncethree times was jaw-dropping in its brazeness, (some of those on a pre-taped show, no less), but I didn't think it would actually spread. Will this become the new truth, unfettered by the cumbersome fact that pervert Mark Foley was a Republican Congressman? In the minds of some, probably.
Well, at least both
Jon Stewart and
Keith Olbermann have now reported on Fox's false labelling.
As if that wasn't outrage enough for the evening...
A right-wing blogger has finally revealed the identity of the person truly to blame for Foley's actions: one of his underage targets. [/heavy irony] And Instapundit and Pajamas Media, major right-wing blogs, linked him. (The above link is not him, but to a Think Progress item which does not reveal the victim's identity.) Hey, you guys ever hear the one about how journalists allow minors and victims of sex crimes to remain anonymous? No, I didn't think so.
ETA (7:28 pm EST):
Three more former pages have come forward to say Foley propositioned them over the internet. One says Foley said he'd let him stay at his house in D.C. if he engaged in oral sex with him.
Oh, and Hastert was strongly hinting today that Democrats were the ones who knew about Foley before last week, and that they might be the source, and should be investigated, blahblahblah. Sorry, Denny:
the source was a Republican aide.
