Bush weakens Endangered Species Protection

Nov 20, 2008 14:37

January 20 can not come soon enough. Feeling the end of their reign, Bush and co have started the deluge of clearly detrimental regulations, hoping to pass them all before Obama moves into the White House.

One of such regulations being prepared for enactment is the set of rules that "eliminate the input of federal wildlife scientists in some endangered species cases, allowing the federal agency in charge of building, authorizing or funding a project to determine for itself if it is likely to harm endangered wildlife and plants".

Can you believe it? Bush wants to make sure that whatever construction projects need to be carried out they no longer need a sign-off from environmentalist scientists on whether these projects may prove to be harmful to the environment, animals, and plants. Why does it not surprise me? Bush has already weakened air quality protection laws, mine safety laws, etc.

What a fucker...

The end can't come soon enough...
