Six Years ago today

Six Years Ago today, America had had its second Pearl Harbor. We were brutally attacked by people with total disregard of human life, including their own. A lot of blood of many innocent people was spilt in name of a bloody ideology.

In 1941, the Pearl Harbor tragedy served to unite the nation under the flag of true patriotism, the defense of liberty. Under a capable and heroic leader, Franklin Delano Roosevelt, both liberals and conservatives, both Democrats and Republicans, went of to war, worked at the munitions factories, defended law and order.

In 2001, the World Trade Center tragedy served as a platform for oil grabs and "preventive wars", reduction of freedoms and suspension of habeas corpus, indefinite detentions and empowerment of corporate interests.

This is the major difference between the Administrations in 1941 and 2001. This is why FDR's Administration had succeeded and why Bush's has failed and he finds himself in a an ever tightening circle of supporters.

9/11 is an event that has ultimately shaped our lives. But its memory does not deserve to be perused by Bush in favor of his failed policies. Hands of 9/11, Dubya. it was never never your mandate.

9/11, bush
