Where's liberal media?
Where is that vaunted liberal media? The rightwing talking heads continue to talk it up. But where is it? All I see is the 5 mainstream Media Conglomerates, large Corporations, serving mainly their own interests. Or would the Bill o'Reillies and Shawn Hannities of this world have us believe of some benevolent bleeding heart Industrial Media tycoons fighting the Good Fight on the Left? Puhleeeeese.
How is it the media scolds Nancy Pelosi for going to Syria when there was a Republican delegation just months earlier in that country, several Republican Congressmen were in Pelosi's group and Darren Issa (R) is in Syria RIGHT NOW! Guess what, we only get to hear that a certain San Francisco liberal went there. In the vacuum.
Or that she were a Syrian womanb's headscarf when there. In it everyone saw a sign of groveling before Bashir Assad's regime and muslims in general. Is anyone remembering Laura Bush wearing the same headscarf last year in Jordan? I doubt it.
Or how about the anger Iranian release of 15 British sailors caused stateside. All of a sudden the Geneva convention was brought up. All the network were singing "Abuse" and the breach of Geneva Conventions. How soon are the lessons forgotten. We live in the country where Attorney General himself called the Geneva Convention "frail" and "dainty". We live in the country whose Administration signs into law torture!
How dare these evil Iranians put these sailors in Iranian business suits and on a British Airways flight. How dare they?
When one UK sailor mentioned that the conditions were "humane" but they were kept separate, somehow I thought that this was the worst we could say of their Iranian captors. If there is anything this country, the US, can say about the Iranian captors is that they did not do it right. No chains and hoods...
