New site...

It's not like anyone really reads this journal, so I'm not sure what the point of posting things is. I guess I don't find a journal all that great. I would keep a real one in hopes that some masochist would pick it up and read it all someday. But an online one, I find it to be masturbation without the payoff. live journal is not a community any more than the millions of people crammed into NYC is a community. And this particular journal is not a community, I feel sorry for people who are subjected to it.

Umm...well...wow. That comment just takes me aback.

NYC, like LJ, would be a very large community...with many smaller communities contained inside it...really strikes me as a pretty good...comparison...more than anything else.

The only reason I used the word community was specifically to refer to communities ON LJ, such as real_philosophy, because you know a certain number of people are prob going to read what you post there.

I never said your journal in itself was a community. I said the whole of livejournal is. And your journal is a part of it. Which is more than can be said of a website without regular visitors. You could always start a personal journal here if you want to reserve this one for political-only stuff, but I don't see why the two can't mix.

I have other uses for the forums than just a blog.

And yeah, no one reads this already, thought that was established.
