A Series of Unfortunate Events

So...I haven't really said anything since I left school. Well, there's a very good reason for that. Life has not been entirely kind to me since the end of term, but at least it hasn't been boring. Here's what went down. On the Friday that finals ended, I got up around noon with the intent to finnish my Historical Archaeology paper. I wasn't feeling very well, so Jon went to Jazzman's and bought me a tea, a muffin and some soup to make me feel better. I was sitting in his room eating them when Adam walks in and says "Ummm, I think Jaime is getting arrested." Jaime aka Bayno, is one of mine and Jon's best friends so we of course ran upstairs to see what was happening. We got to the second floor just in time to see Jaime being led onto the elevator, handcuffed, by 2 cops. It looked like he had been crying, but since we know Bayno better than this we realized that they had got him with pepper spray. We ran down to the basement, and as he's leaving he calls out to us "I love you guys, see you next semester." We ended up getting dressed in our most conservative attire, and rushing down to the campus police station to wait for him. We picked him up and brought him to the diner, and then back to the dorm where we were informed that he had 1/2 an hour to pack and get out. Not wanting to abandon our friend the two of us rushed to pack our own things and we ended up giving Bayno and Adam a ride home. This meant that the four of us plus all our shit was crammed into my Volvo. I don't know HOW that poor little car made it all the way, but she did. Finally we got back to Jon's house in Long Island after having been on the road for about 6 hours total.

Once I got down there things didn't get much better for me. For one I still hadn't finnished my paper, but every day that I tried to get some work done something came up that got in the way. I had been feeling sick the week of finals, but I figured it was just stress. I was wrong...things only got worse. When I started coughing up blood in the mornings Jon's Mom decided it was time to take me to the emergency room where they could find nothing wrong with me. Reluctanly they let me leave the hospital (they wanted me to stay the night) but they said I definately shouldn't be traveling alone. Translation: I would not be going home for Christmas. While it was nice spending the holiday at Jon's house, it was really difficult to be away from my parents. Especially since neither one of my other sister's were going to be there. Nevertheless I tried to be upbeat about it. The day before Christmas eve we went out to the bar briefly to celebrate Chris' (that's Jon's brother) girlfriend's birthday. We played a game of pool, had a Guinness it was nice...until it was time to leave and my purse was no where to be found. I ended up filing a police report on Christmas eve. Everything was in that purse...

On the bright side, Jon ended up driving me home two days after Christmas, and we had a great belated Christmas at my house. He left today, and it was really hard to say goodbye to him, even though we'll be back together soon enough. I'm still sick, but slowly getting better...I think.

There's some other stuff going on with my sister in Massachusettes, but I think I've written enough for one entry.
