Eight, of course, being the least important of them all.
Tonight, I slacked off of everything by popping in Kingdom Hearts II: Final Mix and dying repeatedly.
So, we actually started again a while ago on Critical Mode, and got to Xaldin before we remembered that, in order to see the Secret Movie, we were still going to have to beat all the absent silhouette battles, all the data battles, the mushrooms, AND the Lingering Spirit. All playing it here did was remove the Jiminy Memo objective.
So. D: There was little point in my dying for the eighth time against Xaldin.
By the way, Mickey saved me three times in one battle at one point. It was awesome. Mickey looooves me. D:
And he does a crapload of damage. Maybe it's just because he attacks things with light, but whoa. A sizable chunk of damage out of that health bar with each attack.
(Unfortunately, once Xaldin gets to the "I ride my dragon" phase of the fight, Mickey can't really hit him.)
So, switched back over to the Proud Mode game where we're level 99 and have about 30,000 munny, to engage in the futile task of fighting data battles.
Tonight we fought:
a.) Zexion
I think he has at least one new move, sucking you into a book when you're already in Book Hell, but it's been so long since the last fight that I don't 100% remember. He has more health bars, but I also hit harder, and so he's still going down pretty easily. But to be fair I didn't quite get him to his Meteor Hell phase before dying. (It took me a while to remember how Book Hell worked, so I died pretty quickly there the third time.)
c.) Larxene
She takes damage okay, and is very very fast. For a full minute of fighting I just stood there on the sidelines watching her and dodging and trying to figure out when to hit her. Finally I just moved in and started comboing -- must remember next time to equip anti-Thunder things.
d.) Luxord
Once again, took me a while to remember his game. He attacks you now when you turn into dice/cards, and that sucks because you can't heal as one -- I died twice while trapped as dice before remembering
kay_willow's strategy of just not playing his games. (FYI his games are much harder now, the text cycles through very quickly and it's hard to select the right options.)
Of all of them I got him the closest to death, but should it count, considering the nature of his fight? XD
e.) Roxas
Hahahahaha oh my god death. So he has approximately 300 health bars now, and there are no openings. At all. Ever. It's just an endless cycle of rush across the screen, raise light pillars, repeat. Using Thunder I managed to damage him just enough to start his second phase, whereupon he whips out much bigger, faster light pillars and starts doing the bit where stands in the center, levitates, and then kills you.
Flying is a decent method of avoiding most of this, although dual bouts will still pop up as he manages to get just close enough to you, and I'm charmed again by the fact that even choosing the right option doesn't actually save you -- it just does you LESS damage.
f.) Axel
There is a trick to this battle, which involves spamming Limit Form and Clear Light, again and again and again, and using Elixers the few times you run out of health or MP. It's still hard. Axel you bastard, why is your whole arena on fire.
It's fun. X3 And I am clearly some kind of masochist.
