KHII:FM+ Organization battle notes & theories
So, we've fought Zexion and Larxene. Both have killed us, Larxene more spectacularly so. (It took about two hours, but I think we've really hammered down the Zexion strategy; I can get him to a fifth or so of his final health bar, and the only thing killing me really is the Extra Special Deluxe Edition(tm) Book Hell, wherein the meteors fall from the sky.
Larxene just giggles and kills you. We've lasted a grand total of thirty seconds, and that we managed by running away from her most of the time. Not trying that again any time soon.
But something I've noticed distinctly in both cases is the total lack of anything resembling a cut scene. Sora doesn't remember these people, so his lack of real omgwtf!! is understandable, but they don't react to him at all. Both laugh mockingly (giggle, in Larxene's case), I realand then just attack. And their weapons, when you find them, are both identified as an "Absent Silhouette" (in katakana).
This makes me think that they are only shadows of their former selves, if you'll forgive the phrase. Some remnant of their souls left behind, perhaps (and this shows undue influence from the Harry Potter series) stowed away in their weapons.
I don't know if they did it deliberately, or if their weapons, appearing with them at birth, are just a part of them and hold that memory on their own.
I really, really wish we didn't have to kill these guys. Zexion is far and away the easiest of them, I can tell, and I very literally fear Marluxia. Not to mention Axel, who I can't help remembering that one chick in the KH Vids blog entry translation identified as unbeatable. (kay_willow, there's GOT to be an Axel battle like these, because Sora never fights Axel, and he's certainly not the hardest boss in the game when Roxas fights him...)
