Just stuff
Is it sad that I was disappointed that my faculty advisor gave me a Target giftcard instead of chocolate from See's Candies this year? As if I needed more chocolate anyway. ;-) But I can't knock $40 to spend at Target!
Things are good. We had an actual date on Sunday for the first time in who knows how long. We went shopping and had Indian food.
J was super productive yesterday. Our house is coming together - J got the gas logs set up in our fireplace, which turned out to be easy and hard at the same time. If we had realized how they worked, it would have been about a 15 minute job. As it was, J tried to hook up the new burner that came with the set but encountered difficulties due to the rusty nature of the joints, and we got frustrated. The ultimate answer was we realized that we could use what we already had, just needed to add the burner pan. So now we have a real-looking fire. Makes it so cozy. Sometime soon we have an electrician coming to check our wiring, since our lights flicker. Hopefully this will be completely covered by our home warranty and won't be a big deal. And I have a serious urge to paint. I would like to do our bedroom over the holidays. And the living room early in the new year, after the Christmas tree is down.
Work is so incredibly slow. It's always this way between Thanksgiving and Christmas (it's cool that I've now been here long enough to say "it's always this way..."). I wish I could work part-time for this month! Only 3 more days to go before a nice long holiday.
