this is the end....
well folks... saturday will mark the end of my all to brief sojourn in the land of the self sufficient. due to our countries economic woes (and perhaps my boss's moving too fast too soon) I will be laid off from the job that only 5 short months ago i thought i would build my life around.
one step forward, two steps back. it's a shitty kind of progress. tentative plans at the moment have me taking two weeks to visit friends on the eastern seaboard before resuming the job my incredibly generous former boss has left open for me.
i know that i am luckier than most, that there are options open to me (my old job, the offer of my grandfather's vacant house in western md) that many people don't have. still, even though i act like everything will be fine to the people at work that i have become so close too, this week is well on its way to breaking my heart.
