Today I had an idea for a story, which I'm quite excited about :) I haven't had as much inspiration in ages. In fact, studying creative writing over the last year may have made me more aware of areas where I could use some improvement, but I largely limited myself to writing fiction that was very much rooted in the real world. Since I'm such a fantasist/adventure/HP/Star Wars freak, this was hard. I think next year I'm going to have to stick to my guns a little more, or else risk losing my enjoyment of writing. Especially because I *have* to write, to pass my course. What's the point in doing that if I don't like what I write? J K Rowling said herself that you ultimately have to please yourself first with what you write. I started out writing for myself, it's about time I get that back.

I watched Shrek *and* Pirates of the Caribbean today. I ♥ those movies so very very much.
