GWPS in full swing over here ...
I'm finally getting somewhere with my English project, and writing it about Firefly is more fun than even I'd expected! :D It's making me look at the show, and Buffy, in a whole new light, I swear ...
I have to face it really though - this LJ entry, and all the dossing about I've been doing on the internet lately, is complete work avoidance. Otherwise known as the Green Wing Procrastination Strategy. My definition of the GWPS has increased to include pretty much anything that occurs in a manner that is in the spirit of the show - so basically most of what I've been doing in the last few days, which now includes spinning around on my computer chair, dancing madly on said computer chair, painting my fingernails and toenails with two coats (alas, no Martin to blow them dry), reshaping my eyebrows, dressing up and prancing around in a Sue White-like manner.
My housemates and I have also got something of a Green Wing addiction going. It's so good, I've spread so much GW joy since I've been back (yes, I am very sad/obsessed). My housemate Marianna had seen hardly anything of series one and now she's watched the whole thing with me, and my other housemate Wokko had never seen it before in his life and has now seen a lot of the second half of series one and episodes one and two of series two. It's interesting actually - I think GW makes weird people weirder, because anytime we're watching GW, we all start to act a little crazy. Ah well, it's fun and it's distraction from the Oversized Workload. Last night we were all sat in my room watching it on my laptop, which felt a bit like being in a very small cinema really :)
Deadlines are looming though, and I really have to actually get down to some serious work. My English project is due in on Thursday and my creative writing portfolios are due in the week after, and I haven't even started to edit those yet. They're going to take some serious work and possibly a few all-nighters as well.
Time to go and squeeze out some more words for this project. (I really need one of my housemates to confiscate my internet cable or something, but I don't want to ask them to because they'd probably take me at my word, which I would probably end up regretting later, and refuse to give it back if I got desperate and NEEDED some distraction!)
